Fathima from Thiruchi had a dream of breaking the negative stereotype of not supporting girls to pursue higher education. Shocking to discover that many young girls are subject to this injustice even today. Despite a Cutoff of 195 – a score most people only dream about, this prodigy in the making was considering enrolling for a job rather than pursuing her dreams. Today Fathima is a recepient of a Full Academic Scholarship at Agni College of Technology & a dynamic engineer in the making. Agni Foundation’s project Freedom

Life always gives us second chances. Pavithra’s story is an astonishing journey of a young aspiring medical student who had a challenging turn of events that affected her preparations & consequently her dreams of becoming a doctor. She mulled over the sequence of events that almost derailed her goals. However, her senior who knew the intense efforts exerted over the years & shared words of wisdom on how we must realize the importance of second chances & grab those opportunities when they become available. This mentor was instrumental in Pavithra pursuing a college education in the field of Engineering on a scholarship & we at the Agni Foundation are extremely grateful. Practical Sessions on how Youth can contribute in fields of Agriculture, Engineering & Sustainable Employment Headlined by Dr.Sultan Ismail Sir & a creative interactive session with Mr.Subbu,CEO Flame Advertising and learning to fly drones were highlights of Day 3 SDG Action Tour! Our Brazilian Guests also had an opportunity to live half a day as Indian Farmers to realise how difficult their scenario is with increasing urbanization, soil degradation, climate change among various other problems.
